Kojic acid is derived from a fungus, and studies have shown that it is effective as a lightening agent, inhibiting production of melanin. Bearberry - Bearberry Extract (Arbutin) is a natural extract found in bearberry (Uva Ursi) plants. It provides a skin lightening effect on the skin by inhibiting tyrosinase activity. Licorice leaf extract - from the Liquorice plant which is obtained when extracted from the plant roots and possess very powerful hyper-pigmentation vanishing qualities. According to Japanese scientists the main purpose of licorice extract is to decrease oxidization activity of the melanin creating cells in the skin in similar way as Kojic acid does.
