Since rosacea - prone skin is very vulnerable to chemical and physical stress, it is essential that all sources of irritation to the skin be avoided.
Unfortunately, almost all products on the market contain some of the following unsuitable ingredients:

INGREDIENTS

Horsechestnut Seed Extract
A French study has shown that a 1% solution of a cream containing Horsechestnut Seed extract reduced the redness by 25 % in 75% of volunteers with rosacea-prone skin.
Vitamin K
Topical application of Vitamin K has been shown to help control the redness of rosacea-prone skin.

Canadian Willowherb Extract
Canadian Willowherb extract soothes and helps temporarily reduce the itchiness, redness and irritation associated with a number of skin problems. A cream containing 5% Canadian willowherb extract was shown to reduce redness more rapidly than 1% hydrocortisone cream.

Chamomile Extract
Chamomile extract has proven ant-irritant and healing properties. It is also considered anti-itching and extremely soothing to the skin. Suitable for those with extra sensitive skin, it works by neutralizing skin irritants.
Sodium Hyaluronate
A number of individuals with rosacea-prone skin tend to have dry patches of skin. Sodium Hyaluronate is a naturally derived ingredient which has excellent moisturizing properties. This hydrating ingredient maintains the skin's moisture balance and helps to reduce the formation of wrinkles.

Individuals with rosacea-prone skin have much more sensitive skin than 'normal' skin types. For this reason, ingredients commonly found in 'products for normal skin' are not used in the Reduce the Red™ Skin Care System.
