Having identified the cause of latex allergy, Salcura has formulated a special skin care spray, SALCURA with the unique ingredient "LIS" (Latex Inactivating Solution).

"LIS" destroys the latex allergens causing latex allergy by targeted inactivation of these allergen(s). As a result of this the latex allergens are no longer able to react with the specific IgE that are responsible for the allergic reaction and sensitisation of persons.

What is Latex Allergy?
Latex allergy is an immunological reaction to one or more of the components of the natural rubber latex found in a number of medical devices, rubber gloves and other products. The latex is a processed plant product that is manufactured from the rubber tree Hevea Brasiliensis. The variable amounts of some of the proteins contained in latex are recognised by the human immune system as allergens. Some people are sensitised by latex allergens. Others can develop a sensitisation over time and with continued exposure. This sensitisation leads to negative reactions that can manifest themselves in the form of various skin disorders.

In order to achieve the full benefit of the SALCURA MAXIMUM with LIS for persons already showing signs of a mild form of sensitisation i.e. itchy skin (rashes), skin erythma, (runny nose, red eyes), and other signs, the spray should be applied freely on the affected areas up to 3-5 times daily.

Note For Theatre / Medical Staff: SALCURA MAXIMUM with LIS should be applied to the hands before putting on latex gloves and each time after changing gloves and/or washing hands.
