What is microencapsulation? Microencapsulation is the process of producing microcapsules, microscopic sized "packages", for the controlled release of active ingredients . Why is microencapsulated retinol better than ordinary retinol? Microencapsulated retinol protects the retinol from oxidation or spoilage and extends the shelf life of the product. The microcapsules break when they are applied to the skin so that the retinol is at its most active when delivered. What will retinol do for my skin? As we age the process of cell turnover slows down, allowing layers of dead, thick, sun damaged skin cells to remain on the surface. As a result - skin looks dull and thick, pores look large and sun-related damage such as age spots and blotchiness appear. Vitamin A (retinol) is one of the few substances with a small enough molecular structure to penetrate and work to improve the appearance of the lower layers of the skin where cell turnover can be increased through exfoliation. How long to use Retanew There is no known limit as to how long this cosmetic product may be used for. If you are concerned about the length of time that you have been using it, consult your healthcare practitioner. Directions for Retanew After cleansing, gently massage evenly over face and neck. Follow with daily or nightly moisturiser. For best results use twice daily, morning and evening. Active ingredients in Retanew This cosmetic contains 2 active ingredients that are combined to achieve a total effect on aging skin. These include: Tagravit R. Encapsulated Retinol (vitamin A), which is only activated upon application to the skin. This prevents the oxidation of the retinol and provides for a much more concentrated cream as it has not disintegrated throughout its shelf life and slow usage. Retinol has anti-aging activity (wrinkles, lines and loss of elasticity), is highly effective for UV damaged skin and assists in improving the cell renewal process. Matrixyl 3000 Contains two matrikines peptides (proteins), Pal-GHK and PAl-GQPR. As messenger molecules, matrikines are capable of regulating cell activities. As a result, Matrixyl is able to reduce the appearance of wrinkle depth and volume, decrease the area occupied by deep wrinkles and increase skin tone. Full Ingredients List: Water (aqua), glyceryl stearate, mineral oil, lanolin alcohol, propylene glycol, glycerine, butylene glycol, carbomer, polysorbate 20, palmitoyl oligopeptide, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-3, stearic acid, cyclomethicone, isopropyl myristate, polymethyl, methacrylate retinol, tricaprylin, BHT, cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone, tri ethanolamine, methylparaben, carbomer, propylparaben. Cautions Prior to use, patch test on a small section of treatmet area and wait 24 hours. If allergic reaction or irritation occurs discontinue use. Avoid eyes, mouth, inflamed, sunburnt or broken skin. For external use only. Sunburn alert: this product contains retinol that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibilty of sunburn.
